Anyway, I was watching Today's News on NBC (?) when they featured the top 5 happiest countries in the world. So, top 5 is Canada (really??), I cant remember the top 4, 3, 2, and 1, but I'm sure the Netherlands was there somewhere (and other Nordics..). But what cracked me up was the Top 1: Denmark... And then my fangirl mind went haywire... LOL

So. The guy presenting it was American. That's a hot plus (have a throb in my heart for most American accents). He was kinda young. He was blond. He had glasses. Oh, and muscular to boot.
Which begs a question. Why are you living in England, America, and why are you lecturing us?

On one of the tours we were discussing the nineeight planets of the solar system, and when getting to Neptune the guide talked about how two guys, one from England and one from France, were trying to beat each other at finding Neptune using only math.
If I remember correctly, the Englishman made the calculations first, but when he sent his info in, it was ignored, so the Frenchman ended up getting the credit for discovering that planet.
Oh, England and France. Even in the name of science, you still can't get along.

 | 01:40 am - Turkey/Iceland, America's new OTP First time poster, long-time lurker. Hope I'm doing this right. ^^
So a few days ago, my family went hiking. Nothing notable, nothing important happened until we got to the end of the trail and everyone but me was staring at the map trying to figure out how much ground we'd covered. My little sister, who is just over six years old and can't quite pronounce words yet, suddenly announced, "Turkey Iceland!"
I ship Turkey/Iceland ever so slightly~ Needless to say, I spazzed a bit before finding out that it was actually "Turkey Island." But "Island" is "Iceland" in Norwegian so whatever, you know? I shall forever call it Turkey Iceland in my head.

 | 11:17 pm I went to go see Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows a few days back, which had a whole heaping dose more of Hetalia than I expected.
It started with the simple discussion of tension between countries like France and Germany being at arms with each other or something. Then, when Holmes is riding a pony, he's shouting "Germany isn't going anywhere!" (It makes sense in context).
Finally, on top of all that, they were holding a peace summit...in Switzerland. And they mentioned more than once how all the nations were willing to shoot each other rather than get along as the meeting was supposed to. All the ambassadors came with their rulers, so I was trying so hard to supress my excitement as I pictured the nations as the "ambassadors" with their bosses. I bet they caused a lot of chaos even WITHOUT Moriarty or Holmes

In case you don't know, the Grinch is this green dude that tries to steal Christmas from all the happy Whos down in Whoville. Anyway, the Grinch has a dog, and he makes him help him, even though the dog is afraid of him. Also, he lives in the cold mountains, all alone. I bet you can guess where my mind went. I was like "Russia! You're in this movie???" Except not out loud, because my family doesn't know Hetalia. Plus, I imagine Little Cindy Lu-who as Liechtenstein. Now, I think my mind is just starved for Hetalia, since I haven't seen it in a while but please tell me I'm not the only one who sees the similarities. Anyways, the way the song just was, I could not help but think of Matthew as the maple trees and Alfred as the oak trees. Then my teacher even says, "You know, the band that sings this is Canadian, and Canada's flag has a maple leaf on it. What if they're thinking of themselves as the maple trees... and Americans are the oaks? Are the Canadians mad at us? For taking... their spotlight?"

The girl next to me (we're both American) says, "I was going to bring scones since I saw some at the store, but my dad said they're British..." | 11:33 pm - A Quick Story for Y'all Over Thanksgiving break, my mom told us stories of when we were kids. Apparently, when my sister and I were little, we were obsessed with marriage (like most little girls are). I would have a wedding every week, marrying my little sister to my brother. After a while, my brother got bored of it, but we still forced him to (because it was fun! And it was still at the time when I was the biggest). My mom freaked out a little and made me stop when my sister told her she loved him, and wanted to marry him for real. The conversation pretty much went like this: "I love him. I want to marry him." "NO he is your brother you can't do that." "But I love him."
So, yea. I spent pretty much the entire time gasping for breath, with my mom staring at me like "it's not even that funny it's creepy and partially your fault." ...She's not like that anymore, though, so we're (mostly) okay now.

| 02:29 pm - Job is Hetalia Well, I'm working here in China, as an English Teacher (American) My Big Boss is China, but the English Boss is Canada.
Lets just say, Canada and America don't get along....Canada is really a D*ck.....America puts up with it, even if it drives America crazy that Canada is on top. (Yes, he also used the "You know Canada tops America right"....please) One day, America had enough. Bought some long soft toy that if you pull it long enough and let it go, it snaps and hurts the person who in on the end of the said toy. Well, I ask my Canada Boss, if he could hold one "End" and I could old the other "end." to see how far we could pull the toy before it breaks. For the life of me, I could not understand how he could not have seen that coming. Its like what, the oldest prank in the book? Just my luck, he happened to hold the toy waist high....oh, It was so hard to to bust up laughing...hahaha....I let go....
Canada screamed "Ah, my bawls....ohhh....." While in mid-jump, falls to the ground, in a fetal position. Couple "ohh's" later and "oh my god, what happend." ( Like 30 sec. on the ground) He slowly gets to his knees and stay's there for awhile. (So laughing hard at the moment while this was going on, same with typing. Tears are in my eyes.)
Two of my students who also saw this, cracked up laughing. Canada looked up at me, I looked down at him. It was my moment of Awesome.....then I had to go to class, I had a huge smile on my face.
The next day....Canada was like, "Good game, wait till I get you back....won't be now....it will be when you forget it. Like Family Guy, "Where's my money""
So, now I have something to look forward to.

In the film, there's a character only known as "lo Spagnolo" which basically translates to "The Spaniard." He's a traveling vagabond who lives the carefree life, his short dark hair is a little bit curly, he strikes a friendship with the Italian male lead, AND there's a fair amount of sexual tension between the two.
One of my classmates even suggested the character might represent a caricature of the nation of Spain.
